The Town is now wants
to go back and use the DSA for the dredge material unsuitable for ocean
disposal. Would you need to review the testing results or would it be
covered by Ken Chin’s WQC. I advised them not to pursue this route due to
the neighbor’s opposition a few years ago, but guess they had no other viable
option.

Thank
you for helping us with the permit amendment/modification for this
project.
The change in disposal areas from
unconfined offshore disposal to upland disposal came about when EPA and the
USACE Marine Analysis Unit (MAU) determined that the material was unsuitable for
offshore disposal based upon the level of testing that had been conducted and
reviewed. The Town of
We have also recently received
recent survey data from the Corps of Engineers, as part of their upcoming
federal dredging project. We have incorporated this data into the site plans for
Town Pier. Please find attached the updated plan. Although some of the
elevations have changed, the dredging footprint and dredge volumes remain the
same.
