Birthdays and Anniversary's - Ruth Beierwaltes - 25th Memorials Received in Loving Memory - none ** Faith worship / service notes ** Next week's Bible passages: (Sunday Service) For All Saints: TBD, Psalm 149, 1 John 3:1-3, and Matthew 5:1-12. Theme for today: The Law leaves us speechless, for it condemns us and holds us accountable to God. By the Law, every sin is unmasked, every sinner is declared guilty. In Christ, by His blood, we receive faith. This faith justifies us apart from the works of the Law. Thanks be to God that Christ gives us His Gospel. By it, sin is forgiven and sinners declared innocent. This is our freedom in Christ proclaimed throughout every nation, tribe, language, and people Upcoming Service Settings - On "All Saints", we move to setting 3, and will probably stay until we begin Advent (where we tone it down a bit). Special dates for people or celebrations in the church upcoming 10/25 - Dorcas, Lydia, and Phoebe, faithful women. 10/26 - Philipp Nicolai, Johann Heerman, and Paul Gerhardt, hymn writers. 10/28 - St. Simon and St. Jude, Apostles. A possible change to how we handle Holy Communion - Pastor would like you to ponder the following: 01) Turning all the time sideways to serve the elements, as you arrive to the front, is "hard on the knees". 02) Perhaps we can try this: As we come forward in "family units", or whatever you deem OK, one group moves to the pulpit side, another group moves to the lectern side. Pastor(s) will then come across and distribute to all. In essence, we are doubling up. 03) Pastor(s) will keep the elements on the altar. The Common Cup is coming back - But to start, it will appear on Special "Holy" Days, such as next week, All Saints. Please tell Pastor if you would like to partake of it. Yes, yes, the individual cups will always stay. Thanksgiving Service - The plan is to have a Thanksgiving Eve worship service on Wednesday, November 25. This will allow for you to prepare and enjoy Thanksgiving Day with friends and family, but still, the night before, have an opportunity to "give thanks" in worship. Faith's Comcast Connection appears to be down - We are checking in to it, we did see a line that appeared damaged or cut coming into the building.
