Stanton Zeff Bio (Drum) Stanton was born and raised in Kansas City, where he was exposed to the rich culture of jazz at a very young age. Starting with the drum set at the age of five, he went on to study both jazz and classical percussion (snare/tympani/mallets). Stanton was a member of the Youth Symphony of Kansas City as well as multiple District and State school bands. His high school musical experiences were highlighted by his selection as the Kansas All-State Jazz Band drummer and being a part of the great Count Basie's 75th birthday party. Stanton has fond memories of playing with now life-long friends during his college days on the famed 6th Street in Austin, TX. After graduating with a BSEE from The University of Texas at Austin he made his home in Plano, TX, where he still lives and works as an Electrical Engineer today. In addition, he promotes modern jazz/fusion by writing CD reviews for Audioholics Online A/V Magazine (http://stantonzeff.com/cd-reviews).
