Inject and Forget Bags A world First By www.MushBuddies.com My names Mark and i will be guiding you through the process step by step. This Grow System works differently from any system produced for growing mushrooms so far. So please do not seek advice from anyone other than the team at MushBuddies.com. If you do need help along the way. Feel free to contact us here: MushBuddiesSales@Gmail.com and we will be more than happy to help. Please do not deviate from these instructions Important Facators for this system to work well: A: Blue Spectrum Led Lamp B: 26 DegC for germination of your Spores and Colonisation of the Substrate. C: 23 DegC For Fruiting. D: DO NOT OPEN THE BAG UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO HARVEST E: Read all of this a couple of times before starting the project. Temperatures lower than these will slow down your Grow. Temperatures hotter than 27 DegC may prevent spores from germinating and kill mycelium. Opening the bag prematurely will allow contamination in. Do buy a Thermostat Controlled Heat mat. Set it and then you can leave it to look after you grow. Step 1 Inoculation of the Bag, 5 mins This will be done with a Spore or liquid culture Syringe. Shake the Syringe well to mix up the solution inside Take the alcohol swap and clean the black circular self healing injection port at the base of the bag. DO NOT WIPE THE NEEDLE ONLY USE HEAT TO STERILISE THE NEEDLE. DO NOT BREATH ON THE NEEDLE OR ALLOW IT TO TOUCH ANYTHING, IF YOU DO RE STERILISE WITH HEAT. You want to insert the syringe into the injection port and administer 5-10 ml of solution into the substrate block, saving the rest of the solution for later. Heat sterilise the needle replace the cap and keep the syringe in the fridge for next time 2-8 DegC. Now go back to the bag and use your hands to massage the spores through out the substrate. The better you mix up the substrate the more even the growth. Step 2 Reshape into a Fruiting Loaf After mixing the spore solution and substrate well. Place the bag in front of you so the filter and injection port are facing you. Lay the bag over onto it left side. You will have one bottom corner and one top corner poking up in the air. Pick up the bag by these two raised corners and settle the substrate along the length of the bag by gently shaking side to side (left to right). Tape the probe in place (on one of the black section of the mat. Carefully place the bag on the heat mat. We have factory set the heat mat for you at 25-26 degC. Put the bag on top of the heat mat and the temperature probe in between the bag and the heat mat. check that the red light is on when temps are below 25 and the red light is off when temps are above 26c. call 07495515023 if you are unsure. When you stand back and have a look, the bag will be on it's side. The substrate will be all broken up along the bottom. The bag will look like a camping tent and the filter should be just above the substrate level. Nice job. close the box loosly. Step 3 Wait for life, It will take the spores about 5-10 days to germinate and show the first signs of life. *Light must not shine on this bag until you are ready to fruit. You will see tiny white growth, this is the mycelium. Step 4 Allow the substrate to fully colonise so it all white Do nothing to the bag. You are just waiting for the white mycelium to fully colonise the substrate. When the bag is fully white please wait 5 more days for the mycelium to grow strong. You may find a small patch of substrate under the filter patch that does not colonise. To remedy this please pull the filter patch away from the substrate. But dont worry about this area too much. When the bag is fully white move to the next step. Step 5 Turn On the lights its fruiting time. Slide the light into position Make sure the bag stays in the tent position. Turn on the blue spectrum leds. 24hrs a day is fine so no need for a timer. There is no need to drop temps either. so continue at 25-26degC Step 6 Be patient and watch them grow. After about 5-14 days you will see tiny pins to forming. This will take alot longer if you do not use the MushBuddies Blue Spectrum led lamps. When the pins are getting to about 5-10mm I want you cut 3 small finger nail sized holes in the bag. One at either end and one in the top center of the tent. The end holes should be at or below the substrate surface level. These small holes will allow Co2 to be expelled from the bag as your mushrooms grow. Use scissors for this. We have added Oxygen Release agents to help you out and the holes really help the process. Step 7 HARVEST TIME When 70% of the mushrooms have opened their caps you may now cut open one end of the bag and remove the Loaf to harvest your crop. Place the Loaf on top of the bag while you harvest. use scissors to cut the shrooms free. Cut them as close to the substrate surface as you can but leave any smaller mushrooms so they can mature. This has been your first flush. Congratulations. When all the mushrooms have been removed the loaf may be soaked for 12HRS in sterile water. Then re-insert the loaf into the bag for 2nd, 3rd and fourth flushes. fruiting at 25-26 DegC. Please do not add vermiculite to the loaf. Hit me up if you get stuck. MushBuddiesSales@gmail.com
