Hope all is well with our members.  The Board wanted to give a fall update and also some communications to the community.  First we convey our condolences to Bill Kirchberger on the loss of his wife Elfriede.  Would like to give a warm goodby and good luck hug to Linda Elzer as she moves on to a new home. We also welcome new members Danielle Runfola and Brayton Cronk of 2 Oak Lane and Jessica Long and Robert Bernard of 46 Beach Club Lane.   We also give a shoutout to Art Lundahl who has mowed the grass for over 30 years along with other members of the community who help out with keeping our community well cared for.  Some Updates:  • Fall is here and so are the falling leaves! As I walk Finn around the community, I see that the streets are starting to get leaves falling on them (mostly from the storms we have had). We would like to remind every member of the community that you are responsible for the leaves on all of the perimeters of your homes. They will only increase as time goes on. There is a yard waste pickup day for the community, whether your garbage is picked up on Thursday or Friday. These are the days you can put your leaves to the curb for pickup.  Days for Pickup: Oct  12 or 13th, and 26th or 27th.
                              Nov 9th or 10th, 16th or 17th, 23rd, and 30th
                              Dec 1st, 7th or 8th, and 14th or 15th.
The Board will continue to keep an eye on the private roads for leaves that become a hazard and will take appropriate action for cleanup if necessary.  • The Beach Club Deck will need to be sealed and protected, which will be done shortly as cooler weather prevails  • We are seeing cars parked too close to fire hydrants on our roads. Just this past week there was a house fire near us on Gladys Rd. and firemen needed to get to multiple hydrants to put out the fire. Riverhead Town Code notes no parking within 10 feet in any direction of a fire hydrant.    Please follow the laws of the town.  • Please follow the speed limits of the private roads. Remember they are our sidewalks as well as our streets. I personally have had to jump out of the way of speeding cars coming up Beach Club Lane at more than 30 MPH (a navy blue BMW was one)  as they turn the corner to Northside Rd.  • The Board has voted to have 2 meetings of the BCCA per year. There will be one meeting conducted on Zoom and one meeting in person on the Beach Club Lane deck. The Board will address any issues outside of these meetings as they arise.  •  We do welcome the community to have meetings of their own accord on the deck to get together, but there would be no business conducted related to the BCCA.  • At the annual meeting, it was noted that dues for 2024 will be $300.00 per year. This will help Wading River Shores to pay for repairs on Oak and maintain existing expenses for the Beach Club deck and any ongoing repairs as well as insurance expenses for the BCCA.  Invoices will be sent early in 2024 for payment of dues.  Please let us know if there are any issues that you would like to talk to us about at any time.  We wish all members of our community to have a wonderful fall season. It is a great time of the year and a wonderful preparation for the holiday season.  Thanks Laura Page-Greifinger Secretary  Wading River Shores Beach Club Civic Association Sent from Outlook
