Wikipedia is the encyclopedia of the internet. A non-profit organization. A website that allows any person to make changes on any subject on the website. 

Within the organization are people that does put in the effort to fact check to make sure visitors are not getting misinformed, that being said Wikipedia believes in the value of the 1st Amendment and doesn't want to tarnish or offend anyone's intellect.
 
As I mentioned before, Wikipedia is a non-profit organization, and they are asking for donations to keep the value of what everyone lives by, Freedom of Speech, to keep flowing. $2.75 is the minimum you can donate. I, myself have donated and bought something from their Wiki-store. To me it's a symbolism of knowledge & America.

Wikipedia does allow anyone to make changes to any subject and not every subject has been fact checked, there could always be that off-chance, you chose a subject that someone could have accidentally typed in misinformation by accident.
