FRONT SHIM SPACER The front shim plate is used if your deck edge trim does not allow the TOON TROLL mount to sit level. Sometimes due to the top edge of deck trim sticking out further than rest of trim, or there is a rubber bumper in the center, when the hand knob is used to tighten in place with underdeck bracket, the mount is pulled down. The shim can be used to try to level as best as possible. It can even be slightly higher than level also. The shim should be placed as far down on deck edge trim as possible. After locating the best position the shim plate can be bolted in place with included hardware. NOTE: If top slide bracket is not mounted on top of slide bracket and placed behind bracket, but on hard floor or carpet, spacers might be needed to allow a smooth slide fit of tongue of main beam into top slide bracket. Aluminum or plastic shim can be used. Thickness depends on deck edge trim thinkness and floor material. Shim can be added between pieces by removing (4) screws or placed underneath before bolting down. AFTER ENTIRE SYSTEM IS MOUNTED ON BOAT, IT IS RECOMMENED THAT A SLIGHT RECESS OR DIMPLE IS MADE WITH A DRILL BIT IN THE TONGUE THAT SLIDES INTO SLIDE BRACKET. WHEN THE HAND THREADED HAND KNOB IS TIGHTENED DOWN, THE STUD WILL BE INSIDE THE SHALLOW HOLE TO PREVENT AND HELP KEEP IN PLACE AND AVOID MOVEMENT.
