Thermography Infrared thermography, or thermal imaging, is a process using an infrared camera that creates an image of an object, using infrared radiation coming from the objects targeted. Cameras provide estimated temperatures, display variations in color such as yellow for hottest locations and blue for coolest locations. Use of thermography for energy efficiency assessments include identification of energy losses due to electrical hot spots (that will eventually fail, effecting reliability of equipment), and to identify areas of heat loss due to inadequate insulation.
